Dave Edwards: 'Two points dropped for Wales against Georgia'

Wales midfielder Dave Edwards admits that his side were "all over the place" during their "bitterly disappointing" 1-1 draw with Georgia.

Wales midfielder Dave Edwards has admitted that his side's 1-1 draw with Georgia in World Cup qualifying is "two points dropped".

The hosts went into the match sitting 127 places above their opponents in the FIFA rankings, and they took an early lead through Gareth Bale's 25th international goal.

However, Tornike Okriashvili levelled things up shortly before the hour mark in Cardiff as Wales made it back-to-back draws in Group D.

"We are massively disappointed. In the first half we played reasonably well, created lots of chances but after they got the goal back we were very poor. We are bitterly disappointed. We went away from what we know best and were all over the place at times. That is down to the players and it is definitely two points dropped," Edwards is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"We would never under estimate them. Their results in the last few years have been strong, they beat Spain and Scotland. We knew it would be a difficult game. Going 1-0 up so early we should have put the game to bed, if anything we were holding on at the end.

"It will be such a tight group. I am sure Georgia will take points off other teams. The Serbia game is massive and the Irish game, they are games we have got to win."

Wales now sit on five points after three matches, while Serbia, Austria and the Republic of Ireland are all just a point behind with a game in hand.
