Sam Vokes eager to link up with "world-class" Gareth Bale in Wales attack

Wales striker Sam Vokes insists that there is "nothing better" than playing alongside a player of Gareth Bale's quality.

Sam Vokes has admitted that he cannot wait to link up in attack with "world-class" Gareth Bale this weekend as Wales look to continue their Euro 2016 qualification charge.

The Red Dragons have made a positive start to their campaign, picking up respectable draws against Belgium and Bosnia and Herzegovina, while taking maximum points from their games against Cyprus and Andorra.

Group B leaders Israel provide the opposition on Saturday afternoon, who themselves are looking good value to finish in the top two following three wins from three, and Vokes is relishing the chance to start in the crucial clash alongside Bale.

"We've all seen how much Gareth's evolved as a player and he's world class now," FourFourTwo quotes the Burnley forward as saying.

"We know that he brings a lot to us for our games and on a personal note there is nothing better than to play with those sorts of players.

"As a striker my last few goals for Wales have come off the back of him putting crosses into the box and getting down the line. It's always going to help me as a player to play alongside someone like that."

Vokes has not represented his country in 12 months due to a knee injury picked up on club duties last year.
