Report: Liverpool want Mario Gaspar

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Villarreal defender Mario Gaspar this summer.

The 24-year-old, who has also been linked with Barcelona, has been one of La Liga's standout full-backs this season.

Mario has a contract with Villarreal until 2019, but it is understood that an offer in the region of £7m could convince the Yellow Submarine to sell.

According to Inside Spanish Football, Liverpool have scouted the right-back on a couple of occasions this season and favourable reports have been returned.

Mario came through the youth ranks at his current club and has captained Marcelino's side this season in the absence of Bruno.
