Suarez to work "very hard" to make World Cup

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has stated his intentions to work "very hard" in an attempt to arrive at the World Cup in peak condition following knee surgery on Thursday.

The Uruguayan international went under the knife after pulling up injured in training with La Celeste.

However after a successful operation, Suarez, who plundered 31 goals last season, stated his plans to regain fitness as soon as possible.

"Thank you all for the support," he told La Ovacion.

"I'll work quietly and very hard in the coming days to be 100% and help my teammates."

The 27-year-old was voted as the PFA and LMA Player of the Season last term.
