Udinese keen to appoint Stramaccioni

Udinese have confirmed that they are keen to install former Inter Milan coach Andrea Stramaccioni as the club's new manager.

The 38-year-old Italian has been out of work since being sacked by Inter at the end of the 2012-13 campaign.

Stramaccioni's one full season in charge at the San Siro saw him guide the team to a disappointing ninth-place finish in the Serie A table.

"Andrea Stramaccioni is our main candidate," Udinese sporting director Cristiano Giaretta told Sport Italia. "He is well ahead of the rest, but we still have to reach an agreement."

Udinese are currently looking for a new coach following Francesco Guidolin's resignation last month.
