'I'm A Celebrity' runner-up Jake Quickenden in talks with Gainsborough Trinity

Reality TV star may join non-League club

I'm A Celebrity runner-up Jake Quickenden is reportedly in talks with non-League club Gainsborough Trinity about joining them as a player.

Quickenden, who was a youth team player at Scunthorpe United and has played football on a part-time basis, finished second on the last series of the ITV show, beaten to first place by former superbike champion Carl Fogarty.

He also competed on The X Factor, and now may be able to add Gainsborough Trinity to his CV.

Trinity chairman Richard Kane announced via Twitter that negotiations were open, and told the Lincolnshire Echo: "As long as we have achieved Conference North safety, Jake will be in contention for a place in Steve Housham's squad before the season is over.

"It will surely increase the profile of Gainsborough Trinity and should bring a few thousand to the Martin & Co Arena."

Gainsborough Trinity are currently 15th in Conference North, with 28 points from 26 games.
