Former Arsenal and Aston Villa midfielder Robert Pires is targeting a return to the game in either Russia or Qatar.

Former Arsenal midfielder Robert Pires is hoping to extend his playing career in either Russia or Qatar.

The Frenchman, who turns 38 later this month, believes that he still has plenty to offer despite his advancing years.

"I'm waiting to see if [the offers] from Qatar or Russia materialise, and if there is nothing I feel ready to stop," said Pires.

"I know that the new buzz phrase is that a player is 'burnt out' but I know I'm not."

Pires was released by Aston Villa during the summer after spending six months in the Midlands.
