Alex McLeish is hoping to bring across Ben Foster from Birmingham to Aston Villa, reports suggest.
The former Blues boss, who defected to the rival side last week, is eyeing Foster as a replacement for goalkeeper Brad Friedel after he rejected a new deal to move to Spurs.
"It is well known that Alex McLeish rates Ben very highly and he will be looking to fill the goalkeeping void at Villa,” a source told the Sunday Mercury.
"Ben is a top-class keeper who had an excellent season at Birmingham. He should be playing in the Premier League week in week out.”
Last week it was reported that McLeish was also looking to lure over defender Scott Dann from his old club.
