Michael Lumb close to Freiburg loan

Zenit St Petersburg defender Michael Lumb has revealed that he is close to completing a loan move to Bundesliga side Freiburg.

The 23-year-old Dane, who has fallen down the pecking order with the Russian side, is expected to sign until the end of the season.

"Yes, the clubs are negotiating," Lumb told Sporten.dk. "As long as they play in the Bundesliga it is interesting.

"The Bundesliga is a big league and I regard it as one of the best in the world."

Lumb, who has had previous loan spells with AaB and Feyenoord, moved to Zenit from Danish side Aarhus in 2010.
