Fiorentina to sign Ahmed Hegazi

Fiorentina have agreed a deal with Egyptian side Ismaily over the transfer of Ahmed Hegazi.

The 20-year-old defender was part of the Egyptian Under-20s side that secured qualification to the Olympic Games in 2012 and he made his debut for the senior team against Brazil in November.

A figure in the region of £1.2m has been agreed between the clubs, and Hegazi will finalise the move in January.

Fiorentina are currently in the middle of their winter break and do not return to Serie A action until January 8, when they travel to Novara.
