Good morning everyone! The headlines may be focused on the opening weekend of the new Premier League season, but don't worry, transfer news and speculation still rumbles on in the background. In fact, the weekend's action could have given managers a good idea of whether they need to strengthen their squads further. As normal, we will bring you all of the latest gossip as it comes to us.

An early line to bring you involves Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane. He was in action for Spurs on Saturday against Manchester United, but is there a chance that he could be playing for the Red Devils in the future? A few months ago, the England international was linked with a £40m switch to Old Trafford, and according to The Mirror, United are still keeping tabs on the striker ahead of a potential bid.

The future of Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse has had question marks surrounding it in the last few months, however according to the player himself, he intends to stay at St James' Park. The 30-year-old, who scored in Sunday's 2-2 draw with Southampton, has told the Chronicle that he has no other team than he can "leave to".

Wales manager Chris Coleman, who works closely with Gareth Bale in the national side, has had his say on reports that the 26-year-old is wanted by Manchester United. Rumours that the £85m man could be on his way back to the Premier League rumbled last season when he had a disappointing campaign with Real Madrid. However, Coleman has insisted that Bale is in "no rush" to leave the Bernabeu.

UPDATE: Manchester United fans, you've been told by many media outlets that Pedro is likely to join the Louis van Gaal's team in the coming days. However, according to Sport, the transfer has been delayed because of Neymar's illness. The Brazilian has come down with mumps and is expected to be sidelined for the next two weeks. It looks as though United will have to continue playing the waiting game.

Into the Championship, where it appears that Middlesbrough could be on the verge of another big signing. According to a newspaper report, the Teesiders have had a bid accepted by Leicester City for their striker David Nugent. More here.

Queens Park Rangers head coach Chris Ramsey has been speaking out about the future of goalkeeper Robert Green. The England international has been linked with a move away from Loftus Road this summer, but the Hoops boss has insisted that he is going nowhere.

It had been suggested that Derby County were looking to poach highly-rated winger Michail Antonio from rivals Nottingham Forest for £5m. However, a recent report has stated that there is no truth in the rumours linking the winger with the iPro Stadium.

UPDATE: Stoke City's proposed move for Inter Milan winger Xherdan Shaqiri seems to be edging ever closer. According to Sky Sports News, the 23-year-old is currently undergoing a medical before finalising the transfer.

DEAL AGREED! Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Kenny Jackett confirms that the club have verbally agreed to sign Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez on loan. Read more here.

So, West Ham United fans, did you see this one coming? According to Sky Sports News, free agent Joey Barton, who was released by Queens Park Rangers in June, is having a medical at Upton Park this afternoon. Should the deal go through, the midfielder will be manager Slaven Bilic's seventh signing this summer.

Right, let's bring you some news from Spain. Newspaper reports claim that Real Betis attacker Alvaro Vadillo is wanted by Tottenham Hotspur, while Real Madrid defender Fabio Coentrao is believed to have told the club that he wants to return to Benfica this summer.

Staying on Spanish shores - Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen has reportedly attracted the interest of Serie A side Roma, but according to Corriere dello Sport, the Catalan giants have rejected a loan offer. Meanwhile, AS report that Atletico Madrid are keen to sign Lorient defender Raphael Guerreiro, who is also believed to be wanted by Paris Saint-Germain.

Leicester City could be on the brink of filling the Esteban Cambiasso-sized void in their midfield. According to reports in Italy, Napoli star Gokhan Inler is in talks with the Premier League club.

BREAKING NEWS! West Bromwich Albion have confirmed the arrival of Salomon Rondon for a club-record fee. More on that developing story right here.

DONE DEAL! It seemed almost inevitable - Dame N'Doye has finally completed a switch from Hull City to Trabzonspor. Could that see Steve Bruce look elsewhere for a replacement?

Tottenham Hotspur got their Premier League campaign off to a losing start on the weekend, but Mauricio Pochettino could now strengthen his squad with the addition of Cliton N'Jie. The young Lyon forward is thought to be in talks with Spurs over a potential move.

Manchester United target Sergio Ramos will reportedly put an end to speculation over his future once and for all (well, until January) by signing a new Real Madrid contract this week.

UPDATE! It has been another hectic day of transfer activity, so why not check out our Evening Update to ensure that you remain in the loop with all the latest goings on.

Chelsea have reached a deal with Augsburg over the purchase of defender Baba Rahman, according to a report. The Ghanaian left-back has been heavily tipped with a move to Stamford Bridge as a replacement for the recently-departed Filipe Luis.

Liverpool are reportedly willing to sell long-serving midfielder Lucas Leiva if he wishes to leave and the right offer comes in for him. The 28-year-old, who has two years remaining on his current contract, has made 275 appearances for Liverpool since his arrival from Gremio for £5m in the summer of 2007.

A mini transfer saga in the Championship could be coming to an end as reports emerge of Nottingham Forest accepting a £4m bid from Burnley for midfielder and club captain Henri Lansbury.

Tottenham Hotspur may be closing in on a deal for Basel teenager Breel Embolo. Spurs reportedly sent scouts to watch the forward in action over the weekend.

The David de Gea transfer saga continues to rumble on, but young keeper Sam Johnstone has suggested that the uncertainty over the Spaniard's future, and the future of Victor Valdes, is having an impact on his own plans for this season.

Another transfer saga dominating the headlines in recent weeks surrounds the future of Kevin De Bruyne. Reports claim that the Belgian will let Wolfsburg know of his intention to join Manchester City.

Back on the other side of Manchester and United are rumoured to be keen on signing Brazilian teenager Lincoln from Gremio. The 16-year-old has made only two appearances for his club.

Chelsea have been heavily linked with Everton centre-half John Stones, but the Toffees are said to be ready to reject an improved bid for the 20-year-old.

We mentioned the ongoing David de Gea transfer drama (or is it pantomime?). Well, it appears that Real Madrid have submitted a final offer for the Manchester United keeper, according to a report in the US.

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to add at least one more striker to their ranks, if reports are to be believed. Saido Berahino and Manchester United's Javier Hernandez are being linked with a move to White Hart Lane.

Middlesbrough could be close to signing another striker to boost their quest for a place in the Premier League. Boro, who have already signed Christian Stuani in the summer window have reportedly had a £4m bid accepted by Leicester City for David Nugent.

So, Transfer Talk comes to an end for tonight, but Sports Mole will have another installment from 7am, replete with all the latest transfer gossip and done deals. Until then, have a good night!
