Torino, Inter Milan in six-goal thriller

Torino, Inter in six-goal thriller

Torino have scored a last-minute equaliser to deny 10-man Inter Milan a memorable comeback victory in Serie A.

The fans were made to wait longer than usual for proceedings to get underway, but they were not disappointed as the opening minutes saw Inter pick up a red card and Torino miss a penalty.

Inter keeper Samir Handanovic was sent off in the sixth minute after he brought down Alessio Cerci in the six-yard box. However, substitute goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo got across to keep out Cerci's spot kick to keep the scores level.

The keeper was called into action again soon after when he had to turn Danilo D'Ambrosio's effort round the post, as Torino began to make their extra man count.

The hosts then took the lead in the 22nd minute as Farnerud crashed a fierce half-volley into the bottom corner following an impressive exchange with Cerci.

However, Inter hit back right on the stroke of half time as Fredy Guarin produced a superb overhead kick.

Torino were quickest out of the traps in the second half as Circo Immobile crashed home Cerci's free kick.

Yet Inter were not about to give up as Rodrigo Palacio levelled the scores minutes later, tapping home from Guarin's cross.

Palacio went on to grab what looked to be Inter's winner in the 70th minute when he found space at the back post and made no mistake in firing the ball home.

Torino's Nicola Bellomo had other ideas, however, as he crashed in a long-range effort in the last few minutes of the game to deny Inter an away victory.
