Tranmere Rovers bring in George Barker from Swindon Town

Tranmere bring in Barker

Tranmere Rovers manager Rob Edwards believes that striker George Barker will cause problems for League Two defences after completing a short-term move from Swindon Town.

The Merseyside club are struggling in 22nd place, but Edwards is confident that Barker he can help fire Rovers up the table during his month on loan from the Robins.

The 41-year-old told the club's official website: "George will give us pace up front and will cause opposition defenders problems.

"We're grateful to Mark Cooper and Swindon Town for letting George come to us."

Barker is likely to feature in Tranmere's fixture with Plymouth Argyle on Saturday afternoon.
