Martin Ling resigns as Swindon boss

Martin Ling has resigned as Swindon Town manager due to health reasons.

The 49-year-old, who succeeded Mark Cooper last month, had been in charge for just 56 days.

The League One side announced the news via Twitter this afternoon and said that a further statement would be made in "due course".

Ling's stint in charge of the Robins was his first managerial role since leaving Torquay United in April 2013, when he took time out from the sport due to depression.

Swindon won five of their nine matches under Ling, who was nominated for last month's League One Manager of the Month award.
