MacDonald leaves Swindon Town

Swindon Town manager Kevin MacDonald has left the League One club by mutual consent.

The Scot replaced Paolo Di Canio at the County Ground at the start of March and guided the side to the semi-finals of the League One playoffs.

An official statement read: "Swindon Town Football Club can confirm that after further meetings with the board of directors today, Kevin MacDonald has left his position as first-team manager by mutual consent."

MacDonald's assistant Mark Cooper has been put in temporary charge of the team.
