Mikael Lustig: 'Italy fans are f***ing c**ts'

Sweden defender Mikael Lustig called Italy fans "fucking cunts" for booing the Swedish national anthem on Monday night.

The Celtic centre-back was caught on camera moments after the national anthem finished furiously referring to the opposing support with the foul language.

Lustig played a key role as his side shockingly defeated Italy in the World Cup playoffs, meaning that the Azzurri would miss the tournament for the first time since 1958.

The Scandinavian team carried a one-goal advantage into the second leg at San Siro, after Jakob Johansson scored the only goal in the opening tie in Stockholm.

The visitors produced a resolute defensive display, holding Italy to a 0-0 draw and qualifying for Russia 2018 on aggregate.

Sweden will have to wait until the group stage draw on the December 1 to find out who they are set to face in the tournament.
