Swansea City: "No official approach" for Wilfried Bony

If Liverpool want to sign Wilfried Bony they must approach the club officially, says Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins.

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has demanded that Liverpool make an official approach for Wilfried Bony if they are interested, and not go behind the club's back.

Jenkins said that he was surprised to hear reports that Liverpool were talking to the Ivorian and insisted that there had as yet been no bids tabled for the striker.

"I was very surprised to hear, and disappointed to hear, that Liverpool had gone down that route and were talking to the player behind my club's back," he told the Daily Mail.

"I'm disappointed that Liverpool are acting in that manner. No official approach has been made to me or our football club."

Bony scored 16 Premier League goals in his first season for the club last term.
