Brendan Rodgers 'desperate to land Joe Allen'

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is reportedly desperate to land Swansea City midfielder Joe Allen this summer.

Swans boss Michael Laudrup is reluctant to sell the 22-year-old, who is understood to be happy at the Liberty Stadium.

Nevertheless, Rodgers remains undeterred in his pursuit of Allen and has told the South Wales club to name their price, according to The Metro.

It is believed that Rodgers wants Allen to operate as a central playmaker in a 4-3-3 formation at Anfield.
