Laudrup scraps plans to sign goalkeeper

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has revealed that goalkeeper Michel Vorm should be fit to return in January.

Vorm has undergone surgery on a troublesome knee problem that was expected to result in Laudrup strengthening his goalkeeping department, but the Dane has shelved plans to sign a replacement.

The 49-year-old told the South Wales Evening Post: "Michel's operation went well and he should be back just before Tottenham Hotspur on January 19. Depending on what happens in the cup, we could have a free weekend at the end of January.

"When you look at the games that we have, I don't think that we need to sign another keeper. If we did, we would get to the end of January and we will have too many."

Swansea are currently sitting in 10th position in the Premier League table.
