West Bromwich Albion fightback stuns Swansea City

Pepe Mel's West Bromwich Albion secure a much-needed win away against Swansea City.

A second-half comeback by West Bromwich Albion has seen them beat Swansea City 2-1 in their Premier League encounter.

The home side went ahead when Roland Lamah broke down the left wing with just two minutes played, cut inside Steven Reid and curled in a shot off the post from 10 yards.

West Brom struggled to settle after that, although Victor Anichebe did fire an effort straight at Michel Vorm after beating a defender.

Swansea then worked their way down the left, where the ball was played to Wilfried Bony. However, Ben Foster denied the striker from just six yards out.

Jose Canas smashed over the bar following a small spell of West Brom possession, but the away side struggled to get their creative players in the game.

Ashley Williams headed over the crossbar when free in the box just before the half-time whistle.

Despite being second best for much of the first half, West Brom were level shortly after the restart.

Stephane Sessegnon received the ball 25 yards out, and after taking a touch forward, he drilled the ball into the bottom corner.

Swansea appealed for a penalty when the ball was volleyed at Gareth McAuley from point-blank range and hit him on the arm, but the referee said no.

However, the Baggies completed the turnaround when Youssouf Mulumbu slotted the ball in off the post.
