Pablo Hernandez: 'Swansea City have had a good season'

Swansea City winger Pablo Hernandez insists that the club have had a "good season" despite being involved in a relegation battle.

Pablo Hernandez has insisted that Swansea City have had a "good season" despite largely being involved in a relegation battle in the Premier League.

The Spanish winger scored in the Swans' 4-1 victory against Aston Villa on Saturday - a result which confirmed the Welsh club's stay in the top tier for another season.

Swansea were knocked out of the Europa League at the round-of-32 stage by Napoli in February, while former manager Michael Laudrup was also dismissed following a run of bad results.

"I still think it's been a good season for the club. Some people wanted us to finish eighth or ninth position in the table, but that's not easy," Hernandez is quoted as saying by Wales Online. "It's a long season with a lot of games and we knew at the start of the season it was going to be difficult because of so many competitions.

"We were in the Europa League and we had a chance against Napoli because I thought we played better than them. They are a big team and it was not easy but they were good experiences.

"It has been difficult but now is a time to enjoy for the fans, and the fans are very important because always they support the team."

Swansea are currently 12th in the league table.
