Garry Monk warns Swansea City players against complacency

Swansea City manager Garry Monk admits that guarding against complacency has been an issue following the win over Manchester United.

Swansea City manager Garry Monk has admitted that making sure complacency doesn't become an issue has been a challenge for him ahead of this weekend's clash with Burnley.

Monk's men started their season by recording a 2-1 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford, but he insists that the result will count for little if they do not produce a similar display on Saturday.

"There is a concern, which is why I've stressed [this] to them," the Swansea boss told reporters. "We know how important it is to follow up. There are no guarantees, but if we can get preparations as best as possible it gives you a chance of delivering a performance you're happy with, and you can win a game.

"It's always a good feeling to beat big teams and when no-one gives you a chance it makes it sweeter.

"But it's the first game of the season, there's a lot more games to come, and I said afterwards we knew can improve on that."

Monk revealed on Thursday that he was looking to sign at least two more players before the end of the transfer window.
