Laudrup surprised by Michu snub

Michael Laudrup has said that he was surprised to see Michu omitted from the PFA's Player of the Year shortlist.

The Spaniard has scored 21 goals for Swansea City in all competitions this season, helping the club secure their first major trophy.

The Swans manager told Sky Sports News: "Every player wants his player to be nominated.

"To score more than 20 goals in a mid-table team in his first season is fantastic. He has done enough to be up there."

Gareth Bale, Robin van Persie and Luis Suarez were among the players named on the shortlist earlier this week.
