Laudrup "pleased" despite defeat

Michael Laudrup refused to be too downbeat after his side's 1-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon.

It looked as though Laudrup's men had done enough to claim a share of the spoils at White Hart Lane until Jan Vertonghen's first goal in the Premier League handed Spurs the victory 15 minutes from time.

Despite admitting that his side could have done more from an attacking point of view, Laudrup insisted that he was "pleased" with most of what he saw from his players.

"It was a difficult game against a great team. We started well before they put us under pressure," he told BBC Sport. "They had a lot of individual pressure. They created a lot of chances but we knew if it was 0-0 at half time we had a great chance.

"I don't think they created that much after that. We were not at our best offensively. The last 10% we missed but I'm pleased with the performance of my team."

The loss has left the Swans 10th in the Premier League table.
