Jenkins has "very good" relationship with Laudrup

Swansea City's chairman Huw Jenkins has denied that manager Michael Laudrup was close to leaving the club, amid reports that the Dane was frustrated by a lack of funding.

Jenkins said that he has a "very good" working relationship with his manager and that any speculation of him leaving was nothing but paper talk.

"My relationship with Michael Laudrup has always been very, very good," Sky Sports News quotes Jenkins as saying. "I don't think that has ever been in doubt.

"There has been a lot of speculation over the summer, a lot of it when Michael was on holiday in America and in Denmark, and a lot of it was blown all out of proportion.

"We were not close to losing him, as far as I am concerned. You can lose a manager, or when the transfer window's open, you can lose a player any day."

Swansea have been strongly linked with the signing of Wilfried Bony.
