Hernandez: 'I can help Swansea succeed in Europe'

Swansea City midfielder Pablo Hernandez has insisted that those at the club with European experience should be helping their teammates as they attempt to qualify for the group stages of the Europa League.

The Swans face Romanian side Petrolul Ploiesti over two legs to decide who will qualify for the main stages of the competition, and Hernandez is confident that he can play a positive part for the side.

The 28-year-old told the South Wales Evening Post: "I think that I can help the team and help the other players having been in this competition before.

"I played in the Europa League for two years and two years in the Champions League.

"I am not the only one, there are others here who know what it is like, so it is up to those with experience to make sure that we help others because it is important for us."

Hernandez could start Thursday's first leg at the Liberty Stadium due to an injury concern over Nathan Dyer.
