Swansea City's Leon Britton 'suffers stress fracture in knee'

Swansea City midfielder Leon Britton is expected to be sidelined for a significant period of time after reportedly suffering a stress fracture in his knee.

The 31-year-old was initially thought to have been given a one-month layoff due to a badly bruised bone.

However, according to Wales Online, Britton has suffered a fracture and will not be able to undergo a scan for another three weeks.

Britton signed a one-year contract extension earlier this summer.
