Garry Monk: "We made a couple of mistakes"

Swansea City boss Garry Monk admits that the team made "a couple of mistakes" in their 3-1 FA Cup defeat to Everton.

Garry Monk has admitted that Swansea City made "a couple of mistakes" during their 3-1 defeat to Everton in the FA Cup this afternoon.

A Neil Taylor back-pass allowed Steven Naismith to put the Toffees ahead in the second half, before Jazz Richards conceded a penalty.

The head coach told the team's official website: "We were well in the game. We finished the first half positively after going a goal down.

"Unfortunately, we made a couple of mistakes, which is frustrating. But they were honest mistakes, and I can accept them. The players are their own biggest critics, and they don't need to be told.

"Neil then makes his mistake and Jazz then brings Naismith down for a penalty. But apart from them, we were well in the game. They weren't cutting us open and having shot after shot. It was just individual mistakes."

Everton's win sets up a quarter-final meeting with Arsenal next month.
