Dick Advocaat wants two more signings at Sunderland

Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat reveals that he is hoping to sign two more players this summer.

Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat has revealed that he wants to sign two more players before the end of the transfer window.

The Black Cats have brought in five new faces so far this summer on permanent and loan deals.

However, Advocaat believes that two more additions will give him a solid level of competition within his squad.

"We have brought in players who improve the squad," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "Too many players last season were very sure of their position and that is more difficult this season.

"We have brought in five players and Connor Wickham has gone, and we still hope to bring in one or two players more. The most important thing is that you have competition - that everybody has to fight for their places. You can see now in training that that is improving."

Sunderland begin the new Premier League season on Saturday when they face Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
