Connor Wickham delighted with Sunderland win

Sunderland striker Connor Wickham expresses his delight with his side's 4-0 victory over Cardiff City.

Sunderland striker Connor Wickham has expressed his delight with his side's victory over Cardiff City this afternoon.

The 21-year-old scored twice as the Black Cats claimed a 4-0 win at the Stadium of Light and moved out of the Premier League relegation zone.

"I'm over the moon. I can't ask for much more. The manager has given me time on the pitch and I'm repaying him with my performances," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.

"We've got fighters in the dressing room. We've got determination and grit and that's why we're doing well lately. Hopefully, this will give us a boost. We're out of the relegation zone and we'll keep fighting to stay there."

Wickham has scored five goals in his last three games for Sunderland.
