Preview: Sunderland vs. West Bromwich Albion

Although highly unrealistic given their extremely negative goal difference, the only sides that Championship-bound Norwich City can overhaul, Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion, meet at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday night.

The situation is simple: A win for either team on Wearside will guarantee their Premier League status, while a draw ensures that both will playing in the top flight next term. If there is to be a loser, only a significant goal swing on the final day of the campaign would seem them demoted ahead of Norwich.

Of late, Gus Poyet's Sunderland have been in title-winning form. They've taken 10 points from a possible 12, which has included victories away at Chelsea and Manchester United.

The Uruguayan has named an unchanged starting lineup for the previous four encounters and there is every chance that he will continue that trend against the Baggies.

As a result, Connor Wickham will lead the attack, with Fabio Borini and Adam Johnson offering the support from advanced midfield roles.

Meanwhile, Victor Anichebe may earn a recall for visiting West Brom at the expense of young striker Saido Berahino.

The hosting Black Cats are without a victory over West Brom since December 2008, when Kenwyne Jones scored a brace during a 4-0 victory.
