Report: Sunderland's Fabio Borini taken to hospital

Sunderland striker Fabio Borini has reportedly been taken to hospital after falling ill during his side's Premier League clash against Cardiff City.

The 22-year-old started the Black Cats' match at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday evening, but was substituted at half time.

Borini's situation will now be assessed and further updates are expected from the club later this evening.

Borini joined Sunderland from Liverpool on a season-long loan deal in the summer.
