Queiroz enters fray for Sunderland job

Former Manchester United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz is reportedly interested in the vacant managerial role at Sunderland.

The Iran national team boss has been linked to the Premier League following the sacking of Steve Bruce last night.

The 58-year-old, who previously coached Real Madrid and the Portugal national side, is one of many being considered by the Black Cats board, according to Sky Sports News.

Feyenoord boss Ronald Koeman is also believed to have applied for the position, but reports suggest that the Wearside club are leaning towards appointing a British manager.

Ex-Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is currently the favourite to nab the job.
