Gus Poyet demands more from winless Sunderland

Gus Poyet demands more from his Sunderland side having seeing them held to a goalless draw against Burnley in the Premier League.

Sunderland manager Gus Poyet has admitted that he was expecting "a little bit more" from his side having seen them held to a goalless draw by Burnley.

The Black Cats remain without a win in the Premier League this season following their stalemate at the Stadium of Light this afternoon, dropping down to 15th place in the table as a result.

"We played okay, but okay is not enough in the Premier League - you need to play better than okay," Goal.com quotes Poyet as saying. "We were defending okay, passing the ball okay and we need to be better than that.

"I was expecting a little bit more. I wanted to control the game more, I wanted us to be in better positions and create better chances so it was one of those days, where everything we planned didn't go as well as we would have liked."

Sunderland turn their attention to domestic cup action in midweek, when they host Stoke City in the League Cup.
