David Meyler to return to Sunderland

Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill has revealed that he will recall midfielder David Meyler from his loan spell at Hull City.

Meyler was expected to remain at the Championship club until January, but injuries have forced O'Neill to recall Meyler for the upcoming Christmas period.

O'Neill told reporters: "After they play Derby, he will be recalled for the Christmas period, which we will have to do."

The 23-year-old scored twice in eight appearances for Hull.
