Stoke City striker Cameron Jerome admits that he is frustrated at his lacking of starting opportunities this season.

Cameron Jerome has admitted that he is frustrated at his failure to hold down a regular place in the Stoke City starting lineup.

The striker has made 14 starts for the Potters this season, with just four of them coming in the Premier League.

Jerome believes that he gives his all in training and as a result is at a loss to explain why he struggles to be handed regular opportunities by manager Tony Pulis.

"I keep saying, 'I'll just work harder and get on with it', but there comes a point where you think, 'am I ever going to get in the team?," he told The Sentinel. "I don't know what I have to do to get a consistent run.

"I feel I train well, and the manager says I train well. Every time I come on I make an impact and score goals or assist in them. But when it comes to the following Saturday I don't seem to get a game.

"I just want to play football. Hopefully the manager might put me in for a couple of games and give me more of a consistent run, then I am confident I wouldn't come out of the team. But I have to get that run first, so let's see what happens."

Jerome joined Stoke last summer from Birmingham City.
