Mark Hughes 'disappointed not to take anything from game'

Hughes left 'shaking his head'

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has rued his side's missed opportunities in their Premier League clash away at Manchester United, which ended in a 2-1 defeat for the Potters.

The Red Devils opened the scoring through Marouane Fellaini, but the visitors equalised when Steven N'Zonzi struck towards the end of the first half.

Nevertheless, the winner came on the hour from a Juan Mata free kick, while in injury time, Mame Biram Diouf missed an open goal that would have secured a point for Stoke.

Hughes told reporters after the game: "We're left shaking our head again as this is another game and another stadium we've come to where we've given a great account of ourselves.

"We're really disappointed not to take anything from the game. We were a hair's breadth from getting an equaliser and that's how it's going for us at the moment."

Stoke slip to 13th place in the Premier League following their defeat at Old Trafford.
