Matthew Etherington: 'We deserve some credit'

Stoke winger Matthew Etherington insists that the Potters deserve credit for their football this season.

Stoke winger Matthew Etherington has insisted that the Potters deserve some credit for their football this season.

Tony Pulis's side were heavily criticised for their tactics during the 2-1 win over Tottenham on Sunday, but Etherington says the critics do not do Stoke justice.

"We play a certain way at times and it works for us. But look at the game on Sunday. There were times when we got the ball on the floor but people don't notice that," said Etherington.

"We have good players. We wouldn't do what we are doing without good players."

Stoke face Besiktas in the Europa League on Wednesday evening, knowing they have already qualified for the knockout stages.
