Charlie Adam has given Stoke City a 1-0 lead going into half-time of their match against Fulham this afternoon.
The visitors came close after just three minutes when Dimitar Berbatov gave the ball to Giorgios Karagounis 30 yards from the goal, but the Greek midfielder's long-range strike whistled just wide.
Stoke had the first clear-cut chance of the match in the 16th minute as Matthew Etherington's corner found the head of Robert Huth, but the German headed wide from just six yards out.
The Potters did take the lead 10 minutes later, however, as Ryan Shotton sent a high ball to the back post which Peter Crouch nodded down to Adam, who swivelled and shot inside the six-yard box to make it 1-0.
Stoke came within inches of doubling this lead 10 minutes before the break when Ryan Shawcross beat Mark Schwarzer to Etherington's cross, but his header rebounded off the underside of the crossbar before being cleared.
Fulham responded with a quick counter-attack, which resulted in Berbatov finding Mladen Petric at the near post, but the Croatian couldn't direct his shot on target.
