Graham Westley: 'Hard work' paid off against Swindon

Stevenage manager Graham Westley lauds his 'hard-working' side as they beat Swindon Town 2-0 at the Lamex Stadium.

Stevenage manager Graham Westley has praised his 'hard-working' side as they beat Swindon Town 2-0 this evening.

Goals from Lucas Akins and Felipe Morais saw Boro register their first league win since November. After the match, Westley spoke of how, once his side nullified Swindon's Plan A, there was no Plan B for the visitors.

"We worked hard tonight. You could see a response from the side," Westley told reporters. We were bottom of the league going into the game, written off by everybody, odds were stacked against us but we're not about laying down and we won.

"We saw in the second half down at Swindon when we put pressure on them high, when we were brave enough to go and force the game we were confident enough and courageous enough to believe in our own game and when we played that game together in the second half we won 1-0.

"Tonight we won both halves 1-0 and I think you could see that they had their Plan A but there was no Plan B. If you can get on top of their Plan A you can do to them what we did."

Stevenage remain bottom of League One despite the win.
