Tommy Wright: 'We wanted another crack at a semi-final'

St Johnstone boss Tommy Wright says that his players deserved another crack at a cup semi-final.

St Johnstone boss Tommy Wright has claimed that his side have a chance to 'lay the ghosts to rest' after making it through to the Scottish Cup semi-finals earlier today.

Wright's men beat Raith Rovers 3-1 to advance to the next round.

After a 4-0 defeat in the semi-finals of the League Cup last month, Wright is pleased his players have a chance to make a cup final.

"I have said to the players that we deserve another crack at a semi-final to lay the ghosts of the Tynecastle result," Wright told BT Sport.

"Hopefully we can get another crack at a final. If we play the way we can play, I don't think it matters who we play in the semi-final.

"But to go there and play badly and win would be perfect."

St Johnstone are currently sixth in the Scottish Premiership.
