West Bromwich Albion expect Saido Berahino to stay

West Bromwich Albion assistant boss David Kemp says that he expects Saido Berahino to be at the club following tonight's 11pm transfer deadline.

West Bromwich Albion assistant coach David Kemp has claimed that he expects Saido Berahino to be at the club tomorrow, despite being heavily linked with various Premier League clubs on transfer deadline day.

The 22-year-old is believed to have attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur, Stoke City and Newcastle United.

Despite West Brom manager Tony Pulis recently claiming that every player has a price, the club have so far refused to sell the England Under-21 international.

A £21m offer from Newcastle was reportedly rejected at the weekend, and Kemp expects Berahino, who left training early on Monday, to be in the squad to face Swansea City tomorrow night.

"He's been in this morning," the Daily Mail quotes Kemp as saying. "He's got a bit of a knock, but he's in the squad for tomorrow's game. I'm expecting him to be here. The chairman deals with that side.

"It was awkward today, he has a dead leg he picked up on Saturday. He came out, he's a bit sore, and he's gone home. With the media around that's probably the best thing to do."

Berahino lodged a transfer request last summer when Tottenham came calling, but the club rejected a move.
