Aston Villa refused Robbie Keane loan extension

Aston Villa have been refused permission to extend Robbie Keane's loan spell at the club.

The striker, who has scored three goals in two league starts, joined the Premier League side from Los Angeles Galaxy last month.

However, the MLS team have told Villa that they want Keane back for the start of their season on Saturday, March 10.

Keane's last match for Alex McLeish's side is scheduled to be against Wigan Athletic on Saturday, February 25.
