Tottenham Hotspur reportedly want to tie star striker Harry Kane down to a new deal until the summer of 2027, with his current terms due to expire in two years' time.

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly try to persuade Harry Kane to commit his future to the club with a new deal until the summer of 2027.

The England captain will celebrate his 29th birthday next month but is yet to win a major team honour with the Lilywhites, whose last piece of silverware came in the 2007-08 EFL Cup.

Kane was widely expected to force a move away from Tottenham last summer, with Manchester United and Manchester City both linked with a move for the 28-year-old.

However, Daniel Levy refused to budge on his £150m asking price and Kane remained in North London, where he helped Tottenham pip Arsenal to the fourth and final Champions League spot.

The arrival of Antonio Conte sparked a major turnaround in fortunes for Tottenham, and Kane is supposedly prepared to remain in North London for the 2022-23 season.

Man City instead opted to sign Erling Braut Haaland and Julian Alvarez to bolster their attack, while Man United will not be able to offer Champions League football next season.

According to Tuttomercato journalist Marco Conterio, Tottenham are now keen to extend Kane's terms, with the striker's current deal due to expire in the summer of 2024.

Conterio claims that the Lilywhites are pressing for Kane to commit to fresh terms until the end of the 2026-27 season, which would take his spell at the club to over two decades.

Kane previously hinted that he would be prepared to stay at Tottenham so long as Conte remained in charge, telling the Evening Standard: "There is still a lot of work to do. I think the improvement has definitely been there since the gaffer came in to where we are now.

"It shows it can be done in a short space of time, but obviously we will see what happens over the summer and look forward to the next season with a great manager. Hopefully we've learnt a lot since he's been here.

"I have no idea [about Conte's future] to be honest, that is his decision. But he has worked really hard while he has been here, he's a great guy, a really passionate man so whatever his decision is you have to respect it. But for sure I am enjoying it and I know the boys are enjoying working with him.

"I have said I am a big fan of his and we get on really well so of course it would be great for the club if he stays. But like I have said that is his decision, he's his own man, and I'm sure he will talk to the club and decide on his future. From our point of view we are all enjoying working with him."

Kane has now amassed 246 goals and 59 assists in 384 appearances for Tottenham across all competitions, including 27 strikes and 10 assists from 50 outings last season.

The Three Lions captain's 17 Premier League goals took him up to 183 in the competition, only behind Sergio Aguero (184), Andy Cole (187), Wayne Rooney (208) and Alan Shearer (260).

Tottenham are likely to wave goodbye to a number of players this summer, though, as the likes of Harry Winks, Steven Bergwijn, Sergio Reguilon and Joe Rodon continue to be linked with exits.

Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic have already arrived at Spurs on free transfers, and Yves Bissouma has reportedly completed his medical ahead of a £25m move from Brighton & Hove Albion.
