Tanguy Ndombele 'to return to Tottenham Hotspur this summer'

Tanguy Ndombele 'to return to Spurs this summer'

Tottenham Hotspur reportedly expect Lyon to allow Tanguy Ndombele to return to North London this summer.

When the French club agreed to a temporary reunion with Ndombele in January, it came with the option of signing the 25-year-old on a permanent basis for a fee in the region of £50m.

However, while Ndombele has gone on to make 11 starts and three substitute appearances in all competitions, Lyon will not be playing European football next season.

According to Football Insider, Spurs now feel that there is an inevitability about the player spending pre-season back at his parent club.

Despite his value to Spurs, it is claimed that Ndombele will not be allowed to train with the first-team squad as he remains out of Antonio Conte's plans in the long term.

Ndombele still has three years left on his Spurs contract, and the Premier League outfit will have to consider making a significant loss on the £60m that they shelled out in 2019.
