Tottenham Hotspur's Serge Aurier wants Paris Saint-Germain return

Tottenham Hotspur right-back Serge Aurier insists that Paris Saint-Germain is the club closest to his heart and would always welcome a return to the French capital.

Tottenham Hotspur right-back Serge Aurier has admitted that he would love to return to Paris Saint-Germain - the club that he "loved the most" - in the future.

The Ivory Coast international spent three years in the French capital before leaving to join Spurs in 2017, winning two Ligue 1 titles with PSG as he registered five goals and 15 assists in 81 appearances.

Amid speculation regarding his next career move, with his contract at Tottenham set to expire in 18 months' time, the right-back has insisted that he is happy in North London but would never turn down a move back to PSG.

In quotes attributed to The Sun, Aurier said: "When I say PSG is the club close to my heart, I don't want journalists to say, 'He can't say that!' But of course I will answer.

"It's the club I've loved the most out of all the clubs I've played for. Paris is where I turned into a man, as a professional, where I discovered myself more. That's where I enjoyed myself the most.

"When I was a youngster at Lens, Paris was the club of my heart. One day, it would be no problem at all to go back, with pleasure. I will never turn down an offer from Paris, that is absolutely certain.

'If ever it comes up, why not? If it doesn't, I'm very happy where I am and things are going well for me."

Despite speculation over his future starting to mount, Aurier has often kept Matt Doherty out of the team this season and has turned out 12 times for Spurs in all competitions so far.
