Zenit St Petersburg forward Sardar Azmoun has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur were among four clubs who attempted to sign him earlier this summer.
The Iranian star has enjoyed a productive period during his two-and-a-half years at Zenit, contributing 55 goals from 84 appearances in all competitions.
Azmoun's form seemingly attracted attention from the likes of Spurs, Roma, Bayer Leverkusen and Lyon during the most recent transfer window.
However, given Zenit's current stance regarding the player, the 26-year-old has suggested that a switch to another club was always unlikely to happen.
Speaking to Soccer RU, Azmoun said: "I had offers from Lyon, Roma, Bayer, and Tottenham, but all the proposals were rejected. This year I will not move anywhere.
"I never said that I was leaving Zenit. When Lyon made the first offer, Zenit rejected it immediately. I have a contract, even if I wanted to leave, the club will not allow it."
Azmoun currently has less than 10 months remaining on his contract with the Russian club.
