Real Madrid are reportedly ready to offer Lassana Diarra as bait to land Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Luka Modric.
Diarra, who has one year left on his contract at the Bernabeu, is set to leave the La Liga champions in search of regular first-team football.
Fenerbahce are rumoured to be interested in the France international, but The Mirror understands that he would prefer to link up with ex-Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp.
Jose Mourinho is keen to exploit this in his bid to sign Modric, who is believed to be preparing to hand in a transfer request at White Hart Lane.
The 26-year-old is currently preparing for Croatia's upcoming Euro 2012 campaign.
