Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino insists that Danny Rose is "happy" at the club and will not be sold in January.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that Danny Rose is "happy" at the club and has dismissed speculation that he could move on when the transfer window re-opens.

The 27-year-old caused doubt over his own future in August when he gave a newspaper interview criticising the club's wage structure and admitting that he would consider departing for a rival, but later apologised for his comments.

In recent days rumours were reignited after Rose was left off the club's 2018 calendar amid links with Manchester United and Chelsea.

Speaking to reporters this afternoon, however, Pochettino claimed that he had spoken with a "happy" Rose and categorically declared that the defender is not for sale.

"It is important now for us and for him to try and get fit for the team. This morning we had a conversation. He is happy," he said.

"It is always important for us to talk. He is an important part of the team. We are happy with the situation.

"You are talking about rumours. No-one is for sale."

Referring to Rose's omission from the calendar, Pochettino added: "He came to see me and said 'Gaffer, why aren't I on the calendar?' I said you were in Central Park. It's not a big issue."

Rose is the longest-serving member of the current Spurs squad, having celebrated his 10-year anniversary over the summer.
