Crystal Palace hand trial to former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder

Crystal Palace have welcomed former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jake Nicholson to Selhurst Park for a trial.

The 20-year-old, who was released by the White Hart Lane outfit earlier this summer, will join the Premier League new boys for their pre-season schedule.

Nicholson's only senior appearance for Spurs came as a second-half substitute in a 0-0 draw with Hearts in the Europa League in 2011.

He represented England at Under-19 level and spent a brief loan spell at Finnish club MyPa during the same year.
